* * NCHU Email Usage Guidelines

**<Reminder> Starting April 2025, due to management considerations for the Single Sign-in System, email passwords and the National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) login password are no longer synchronized. To change your email password, please do so directly through the email login portal. For instructions on how to change your email password, please refer to this post.

*Student email﹙1G﹚

Email account application :

Students: Your password will be automatically created upon enrollment (before the start of the semester); no separate application is required. Your initial password will be the first letter of your ID card (uppercase + lowercase) + the last four digits of your ID card number + the last four digits of your birth date (a total of 10 characters). You will need to change your password upon first login. If you cannot log in, please refer to the default password rules. It is recommended to set up a backup email address after logging in so you can retrieve your password if you forget it. [Set up a backup email address]

Encryption method: (for off-campus use)

In order to improve information security, it is also recommended to use encrypted connection on campus

POP3S for receiving email: mail.nchu.edu.tw (port:995) (SSL encryption used)
SMTPS for sending email: mail.nchu.edu.tw (port:465) (SSL encryption used)

Non-encryption method:

POP3 for receiving email: mail.nchu.edu.tw (port:110)
SMTP for sending email: mail.nchu.edu.tw (port:25)

*Faculty/staff email(15GB)

Email account application :

New employees will be automatically registered in the EZCOME integration system; no form needs to be filled out. The initial login password is your ID card number (uppercase + lowercase) + the last four digits of your ID card number + the last four digits of your birth date (10 digits in total). You will need to change your password upon first login. If you cannot log in, please refer to the default password rules. Unit Public Account: Download the <Faculty and Staff Email Account Application Form>, fill it out, and submit it to the Information Network Group, 2nd Floor, Computer and Data Center (Information Science Building).
